Winter Check-Up and Maintenance
Tire Inspection - If your Lexus has all-season tires, it's best to have them inspected to ensure that they have sufficient tire tread depth. And, if you use summer and winter tires, be sure to make the switch!
Battery Test and Inspection - Since cold weather can harm batteries, we will be glad to test and inspect the battery before the worst winter cold arrives.
Brake Inspection - Since winter roads can be slick, be certain that your brakes are in good shape first.
Windshield Crack and Chip Inspection - Come to Lexus of Towson to have your windshield inspected. We will let you know if there are chips that need to be repaired or if the windshield will need to be replaced. Remember that cold, wet weather can cause small cracks to get much bigger.
Windshield Wiper Blade Inspection - We will make sure your wiper blades are up for the challenges of winter and will let you know if they need to be replaced.
Change Windshield Washer Fluid - Keep even safer during winter with winter blend washer fluid, which is more resistant to freezing.
HVAC Inspection - Before winter arrives, make sure that your heater, defroster, seat warmers, and steering wheel warmer are working.
Check Antifreeze - Antifreeze should be in good condition; if it's not, we can replace it at Lexus of Towson.
Bonus Tip: Prepare a Roadside Safety Kit
It's always a good idea to have a roadside safety kit with you when you travel, and you should add to it during winter. Tools like a shovel, an ice scraper, and road salt can help if you're stuck in a snowdrift, while a change of clothes, heavy blankets, extra socks, and gloves or mittens can keep you warm. We also recommend taking along nonperishable food and water.
